Visiting the Farm

Farm Walks

We have two farm locations. 451 Canard Street and 1736 Church Street. You are welcome to come to the farm with your friends or family anytime for a walk, snowshoe or bike about. Please stick to field roadways for your walk/bike. It is best to leave your animal friends home; however, if they must join you, they must be on a leash at all times.

TapRoot is a working farm so please be aware of electric fences, tractors, animals, etc.

Farm Tours With Josh

If you are a group looking to learn more about what we do here at TapRoot, or have a class you would like to have hear from us about what we do and why you are welcome to book a tour. Tours are a maximum of forty-five minutes and there is a fee of $100.00.

For a successful visit please wear appropriate footwear and clothing (for cooler months it is windy here) and have questions prepared.

If you would like to book at tour please contact Katelyn at admin@taprootfarms.ca. Please provide details about your group and what you would like to learn from the tour.

Intern and Learn at the Farm

Interested in learning about farming or fibre production? TapRoot Farms and TapRoot Fibre welcome applications from individuals who are eager to gain hands-on experience through an internship.

Life on the farm changes with the seasons, and so does the work. Our typical schedule is Monday to Saturday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. During the summer months, our days often run from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Animal chores are also completed on Sundays, although they generally do not require a full day.

An internship at TapRoot is best suited to those who want to experience the day-to-day realities of farm life. You’ll have the opportunity to work alongside our team, learn how and why we do things, and gain practical, hands-on experience across the farm or fibre operation.

If you are looking for a highly structured internship with a formal curriculum, TapRoot may not be the right fit. Instead, we offer an immersive learning experience where curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to work are valued. We also enjoy learning from our interns and appreciate the unique skills and perspectives each person brings.

How to Apply

To apply, please email admin@taprootfarms.ca with:

  • Your current CV or résumé
  • A cover letter explaining why you would like to intern at TapRoot Farms or TapRoot Fibre
  • The dates you are available to intern

We look forward to hearing from you!
