Payments

You will receive one invoice with your total amount due. You may pay monthly or quarterly by dividing the total amount by the number of months you are paying over. We ask that all shares be paid in full by Nov 30, 2026.

• Start February 18, 2026 – monthly divide by 10
• Start May 6, 2026 – monthly divide by 7
• Start July 8, 2026 – monthly divide by 5

Payments must be made on time and in advance of receiving your shares. If you expect to be late, please let us know ahead of time.

Each month, you will receive an account statement from our accounting software showing payments and balances.

Payment Options

• E-Transfer: info@taprootfarms.ca (auto-deposit enabled; password if required: taproot) – Preferred payment method, to save on fees 🙂
• RBC Bill Payment (RBC Customers only): Add TapRoot Farms as a payee. Use your order number as your account number.
• Credit Card: Pay in full through Square. Monthly or quarterly credit card payments are processed through Paypal. Please let us know if you would like this option and we will set up recurring invoices to be sent to you each month or quarter. Please note: you do not need a Paypal account to pay.
• Cheque: TapRoot Farms 1736 Church Street Port Williams NS B0P 1T0

Please note — we don’t have automatic payments, so payments are made manually.

Pick-Up Instructions

• Your produce arrives in a labeled box. Please check the label to ensure you take the correct share.
• If you’re unsure, ask staff at your pick up location
• Please do not rummage through boxes or remove items, as this affect other members
• Bring your own bag or box and leave the TapRoot box for return to the farm OR you may take the box home, but please return it the following week. We reuse all our boxes!
• At each pick up location there is a delivery list with your name, please check your name off when you collect your share

Swap Box

• Most pick up locations have one swap box, available on a first-come, first-served basis. 
• You may swap items only with the swap box
• Please do not look through other member’s boxes
• Be mindful and fair when swapping

Missed Pick-Ups

If your share is not collected within the posted pickup time, it will be donated, unless prior arrangements have been made with Katelyn.

If you are away:

• You may arrange for someone else to pick up your share, or
• We can donate it on your behalf

We are unable to hold shares, issue credits, or move deliveries to another week. 

Weather Events

In the event of a winter storm, we will decide on deliveries as early as possible. Safety comes first!

Quality Issues: TapRoot’s Bad Apple Policy

If an item in your share is spoiled or below standard:

1. Take a photo of the item
2. Email it to csa@taprootfarms.ca
3. Include your name, delivery location, and Subject line: “Bad Apple”

A replacement (or item of equal value) will be included in your share the following week, your share will be labeled with your name.

Request must be submitted within the same week the issue occurs

Missing Items

Occasionally, an item may be missing due packing errors.

Please email use as soon as possible. Missing items are added to your share the following week and labeled with your name.

Add-Ons

Each week, you may add extra items to your CSA delivery through the Add On section of our Local Line shop.

Please note you must be logged into your account to access this.

• Order deadline: Monday at 4:00 PM
• Add-on’s are delivered with your regular share delivery that week.

We are continuing to expand this section – suggestions are welcome!

Weekly share contents are emailed and posted on our blog Fridays for the following week.

Please note we are unable to accommodate special requests, dislikes, or allergies.

If you can’t use an item, consider leaving it at your pick up location, or sharing with a friend or neighbor.

Your Role in Communication:

Please read any emails carefully – if you are not receiving it, let us know.

If payments or emails are sent under a different name than your CSA account, please tell us which account is applies to.

Cancelling Your CSA Share

If you need to cancel we encourage you first to find someone to take over your share (friend, coworker, family member). Please communication with the farm as soon as possible!
