Well Hello everyone Josh here. All I can say is, holy hot summer. It has been tough farming in these muggy days and nights but I felt a cool breeze last night which was welcome and refreshing. Yesterday was organic inspection day and even though we know the routine and are ready the lead up to the big day is full of anxiety. It went well and I happy to say we will be certified Organic for another year. Our inspector this year was fantastic, she was thorough and supportive at the same time. We only have two little things to fix up and we are good. Last week saw us plant the last big plantings of transplants kale, broccoli, napa and kohlrabi. we still have a few lettuce, spinach and green onions to plant yet to make sure we have fresh stuff until November. Things are dry on the farm so where we can we are putting on water through irrigation, we had to do some quick pipe moving last week as the transplant I spoke of were really suffering from the dryness. Soon we we have the fall rains and all will be good. I know the leeks will soon need a big drink or else we will be moving pipe again to the leeks.
