We received some wonderful rain! On the farm we got the equivalent of about an inch which is fantastic. We also accomplished weeding all the brussels sprouts and cabbage yesterday, it was a big event over the last two days, most of the crew was doing that so then we could put on a organic product called dipel to help keep the worms out of all those cold crops (brussels sprouts and cabbage). We are still weeding there is lots of weeding to do. We are thinning apples, we have to go through all the orchards and pull off the excess apples so we don’t end up with tiny apples. Its also apple maggot time in the orchards so we have traps up and we check the traps. When we catch the maggots we then have to protect our apples because they lay eggs on the apples and then the worms crawl into the apples and nobody wants to find a worm in there apple!
