It has been extremely hot, to keep our team healthy and safe when working in the heat we encourage people to stay hydrated, take breaks in shaded areas, wear light colored clothing, wear a hat, get out of the sun if not feeling good. When it is this hot we start harvesting early so we can get the crops in before they have heat stress, as the day goes on a lot of vegetables retract they put the water into the roots causing the vegetable to wilt. We pick in the morning so everything is fresh and crisp. We are still hoping for rain but our irrigation is coming along nicely and we are getting things watered that need watered.
