Happy New Year CSA members!


Here it is 2015. Taking a moment:)

History: The CSA spark was ignited in the fall of 2008. In December of 2008, we started to pencil out our ideas. In February of 2009, we had those ideas organized and created a sign-up form. The first of April 2009, we made up 48 shares in our kitchen. We had 15 acres in certified organic production.

Experience: Each day we are given many gifts on this farm. The days are filled with moments of excitement,  moments of doubt, moments of deep appreciation, moments of multitasking overload, moments of monotony, moments of peaceful reflection, and moments of joy. Since we started farming, we have been learning and expanding and challenging ourselves.

Reflection: For Christmas I was given a book called Love Letters to the Earth by Thich Nhat Hanh. We are being mindful--and in the context of the farm--mindful of the food we eat, the soil, the microorganisms, the people, the water, the sun and the love that nourishes the growth of the plants and animals and then us the people on the farm who tend and harvest and pack and deliver. And mindful of you, the people who make the choice to support a different way forward that does honour Mother Earth. Looking back and looking ahead we are excited to be sharing all this it with you, consciously & mindfully.
