Lots of little romaine lettuce seedlings getting ready to be planted

There are frozen tomatoes for the vegetable and full monty shares.

Wood by the wood doctor, which is going to get lit up tonight to keep all the little seedlings safe and sound.


Roasted Parsnips with Rosemary

Ingredients

1 1/2 lb Parsnips

2 Tbsp oil

2 tsp chopped rosemary

salt and pepper

Rhubarb Apple Crisp

Ingredients

1/2 - 3/4 cup sugar (depending on how sweet you want it)

3 tablespoons cornstarch

4 cups sliced fresh rhubarb

2 apples, peeled and sliced

1 cup old-fashioned oats

1/2 cup packed brown sugar

1/2 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Maple Black Pepper Pork Chops

Ingredients
4 pork chops, bone-in or boneless (I like ones that are about 1 inch thick, and as always, if you can find a local purveyor of humanely-raised meat, please do choose that.)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 1/2 teaspoon whole black peppercorns, crushed in a mortar and pestle or a spice grinder
2 teaspoons coarse kosher salt
1 large shallot, minced
2 tablespoons chopped fresh thyme leaves
1/3 cup cider vinegar
1/2 cup pure maple syrup (I prefer Grade B or Dark Amber)

Tomatoes are planting in the tunnels, and the posts are up to trellis the tomatoes onto.


As some of you may remember Patricia and Frank spent 6-8 weeks in Ontario last spring, when Frank was cast in a movie.  Suprise, suprise the film, called Mobile Homes, is debuting at the Cannes Film Festival. This once in a lifetime opportunity was too great to pass up and the Bishop/Oulton clan left on Thursday to take in the festivities. We are so happy for Frank and the whole family that they get to take all this unbelievable experience in. #farmtoredcarpet
