Farm Calendar Update

Good Morning CSA Members,

It is a lovely  morning here on the farm. The children are still asleep, the rooster decided to sleep in a bit and there is a calmness over Starrs Point this morning that makes for a great way to start the day.

I just wanted to let you know that we have updated the events page on the website (http://www.taprootfarms.ca/Events) and we now have listed CSA potlucks, tour days, jam and preserve workshops, etc. I will be send out a registration email for the workshops so we don't over or under book:)

We love to have you here at the farm.....so please come along, bring your families or friends or extended families and make a day of visiting the farm and the Valley.

Summer Solstice - June 21st - Staff and CSA Member Pot Luck & Bonfire - Starting at 6 PM until you are ready to go home. Bring a tent if you wish to stay over. Bring everything you need to enjoy the evening including fold up chairs or picnic blanket, plates, cultery, cups and bug relief.  No rain date. If you like to sing, come singing:)

July 2013

Canada Day Picnic and farm tour. We will  have a picnic followed by a farm walk about 'tour' . Picnic to start at Noon. Tour to go at around 1 or 1:30 depending. You are invited come as early as you like and depart as late as you like. Please bring all the fixings for your own picnic, we will not be providing food on this day. There is lots of good water to drink and bathrooms to use. If we run out of parking space in the farm yard, please park on only one side of the road as farm equipment travel frequently on this road and space is required.

Jamming Weekend with Patricia  - Join us for a weekend of making jam. Pick the time that is best for you. Friday July 26th (6pm-9pm) , Saturday July 27th 9am - 12pm or 2pm - 5pm and Sunday July 28th 2 pm - 5pm.  All you need to do is arrive on time wearing comfortable clothes. We will have all the ingredients and supplies here. I can handle a maximum of 6 people per session. I will calculate out the price and let you know asap.

August 2013

Natal Day Farm Open House - join us at 10 AM for a walk around the farm in Canard (451 Canard Street). This walk about will be longer and require a 4x4 stroller or better yet backpack. Or a wagon for younger people. At 1 PM you are invited to swing by the farm at 1736 Church Street for a guided tour, that will end up at Foxhill Cheese house for those interested in purchasing a gelato:))

Back to School Farm Frolick - Sunday September 1st 2 PM - 4 PM: Join us for an afternoon of fun activites for the whole family on the farm. We will have games and quests and adventures ready for you. Fun for all ages.
